Brazil leads the ranking of the Top 20 Ecotourism in the World with the Amazon!
One of the best news of the year: according to Forbes Advisor, Brazil leads the ranking of the Top 20 ecotourism in the world, with the Amazon. Followed by Mexico, Australia, Ecuador, Costa Rica among the top five.
For ecotourists, sustainable travel and visits to destinations where they can support wildlife conservation are key. That's why Forbes Advisor carried out research to create an Index of the 50 best countries for ecotourism. The score is based on factors such as the number of animal and plant species found in a country, the number of species per 10 km2, the percentage of the country's landmass that is protected and the number of UNESCO Natural Heritage Sites it has.
Brazil, South America - Ecotourism Index Score: 94.9/100
"Brazil is the country with the greatest biodiversity of all the destinations we researched, with more than 43,000 diverse animal and plant species. This is despite large-scale deforestation in the Amazon. Around 30% of Brazil's landmass is currently protected. This includes eight UNESCO Natural World Heritage Sites, one of which is the Central Amazon Conservation Complex, which protects threatened species such as the Amazon manatee and black caiman."
There's no shortage of reasons to protect and care for our beautiful land even more, right?
